Introducing Dragon Drilling Shop
It’s been another busy year at Dragon Drilling. The last 12 months has seen the arrival of two Comacchio MC30 drilling rigs, weighing in at 36 tonnes each. Capable of drilling deep boreholes for methane extraction on landfill sites or geothermal boreholes, for direct heating systems, Dragon Drilling are now major players in the renewable energy sector.
Modern drilling rigs do not come cheap and the investment, in excess of £1 million, has increased the number of drilling rigs to seven, working throughout the UK.
Rapid expansion meant that the company had outgrown its site in Ruthin and in February this year the company purchased a 3-acre site at Bryn Saith Marchog.
Chairman Geoff Ellison commented, “In the last 3 years we have doubled our turnover and now employ 30 staff. The new site will enable us to continue our expansion into renewable energy as well as consolidating our water borehole and water treatment business.”
In addition to a workshop on the new site, which is large enough to accommodate the largest drilling rig, there is also a warehouse/shop, which offers pumps, water treatment systems, pipework and fittings for direct sale or on-line purchase. Mark Jenns, the recently appointed Retail Manager is looking forward to his new career promoting the Dragon Drilling retail outlet, “I’ve only been involved in the business since June but our shop is well stocked and is up and running. Internet sales are booming and anyone requiring plumbing and heating equipment, pumps, pipes, fittings, tooling etc. should pay us a visit.”
